How to Calculate IPO Lot Size?

An Initial Public Offering (IPO) requires investors to bid in multiples of a "Lot Size." Our IPO Investment Calculator automatically multiplies the upper price band by the lot size to determine the exact capital required for Retail Individual Investors (RII), Non-Institutional Investors (NII), Small HNI (sHNI), and Big HNI (bHNI).

What is sHNI vs bHNI in IPO?

As per SEBI guidelines, the Small HNI (sHNI) category is for applications between ₹2 Lakh and ₹10 Lakh, reserving one-third of the NII quota. The Big HNI (bHNI) category is for applications exceeding ₹10 Lakh, reserving two-thirds of the NII quota.

SME IPO vs Mainboard IPO

Unlike Mainboard IPOs where a retail lot costs roughly ₹15,000, an SME IPO has a mandated minimum investment size of at least ₹1,00,000 per lot. Retail investors in SME IPOs can only apply for a maximum of 1 lot (under ₹2 Lakh).
